Wine, Women & Shoes is the brainchild of Californian vintner, Elaine Honig.

While supporting a local women’s charity event three years ago, Elaine and a girlfriend came up with a novel alternative to the usual wine and food pairing – Wine and Shoes!  The idea ‘had legs’ and Wine Women & Shoes was born.

Since then, Wine, Women & Shoes events are held in over 20 US cities and have raised over US$3,800,000 for women’s and children’s causes. And Elaine still gets a kick out of explaining how Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect pairing for silver strappy sandals, or how Shiraz is an irresistible combination with stilettos.

On 18 September 2009, Elaine’s idea premieres in Australia, when Telstra Child Flight presents Australia’s inaugural Wine Women & Shoes fundraising Degustation Cocktail Party at Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh, (near Redfern station). Women everywhere are invited to enjoy luscious food and wine, see Wendy Matthews perform and flirt with cute Shoe Guys, see stunning shoes and accessories from Australia and Europe on the catwalk, then try them on and buy them!

The purchase of a ticket puts you in the draw for a fabulous return trip for two to Singapore, courtesy of Singapore Airlines with five star accommodation at the Stamford Swissotel, sponsored by Stamford Swissotel.  Other fabulous prizes and auction items will be up for grabs during the event.
